How the math works
Your rating is a weighted average: (current rating × review count + 5 × new reviews) ÷ (review count + new reviews). The calculator solves that inequality for the number of new 5-star reviews. Ratings are handled to one decimal place, matching how Amazon displays them. Note the flip side: the same math tells you how fast a single 1- or 2-star review drags the average down at high review counts — protecting your rating matters as much as raising it.
