How Amazon counts bytes
The 250-byte limit applies to the General Keywords (backend search terms) field, counted in UTF-8 bytes: ASCII characters are 1 byte, accented Latin letters are 2, Chinese/Japanese/Korean characters are 3. Spaces count. Punctuation also counts but is ignored by Amazon's index — a pure waste. Separate words with spaces instead of commas, and skip repetitions, brand names and ASINs.
