Amazon Review Analysis Credits and Billing, Explained
Amzanalyst bills everything through a single pool of Amazon review analysis credits — scraping and AI reports draw from the same balance, so there is no separate meter to track. This guide lays out the exact formulas (with worked examples), the subscription tiers and credit packs, how long credits stay valid, and what gets refunded when a task underdelivers. Every number on this page matches what the product charges today.
One credit pool, two consumption types
Credits are the only currency on Amzanalyst. Every account starts from the same place: a free grant of 100 credits, valid 30 days, no credit card required. From there, two things consume credits — and nothing else ever will:
- Scraping — billed per page collected plus a small base fee per ASIN (5 credits per page, 1 credit base).
- AI reports — a flat 150 credits per report, whether it analyzes one task or a merged benchmark of up to ten.
Because it is one pool, a failed scrape refunds credits you can immediately spend on a report — no vouchers, no tiers within tiers. The quick-start guide shows where each charge happens in the actual flow.
The scraping formula
Scraping cost follows one formula, identical for both scraping modes (full overview and star buckets — see cloud scraping modes):
Total = ASINs × (pages per ASIN × 5 + 1)
Pages per ASIN means the sum across that ASIN's page-carrying rows: the overview row's page count in overview mode, or the sum of its selected star buckets' pages in bucket mode. The base fee is charged once per ASIN — in bucket mode it rides on a zero-page probe row, so it is never doubled. Worked examples:
| ASINs | Pages per ASIN | Credits | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 5 | 26 | First look at one ASIN |
| 1 | 10 | 51 | Deepest single-ASIN overview |
| 1 | 6 | 31 | Two star buckets × 3 pages each |
| 3 | 3 | 48 | Benchmark run, 3 pages per ASIN |
Before you confirm any task, the submit form itemizes base cost, page cost, and total — the number you see is the number that gets reserved. Tasks over-reserve conservatively and settle to actual collected pages; the difference is refunded automatically.
AI reports: flat rate per report
Every AI report costs a flat 150 credits — single-task diagnostic or a merged benchmark of up to ten tasks, same price. Review count does not move it: a 100-review overview and a 500-review five-bucket deep dive cost the same 150. Merging several ASINs into one benchmark report is therefore the cheapest way per product to get full coverage.
Generating your first report without paying anything is possible the other way: the example reports are free to read and download, produced by the identical pipeline.
Free tier limits (the honest version)
The free grant is real but bounded, in two layers — both reset at UTC midnight:
- Personal daily cap: 20 credits per day for free-tier users (no active subscription and no unexpired purchased pack). At 5 credits a page, that means free runs max out at 3 pages a day.
- Shared global pool: all free-tier users together draw from a daily pool of 100 credits, first come first served. When the pool runs dry, free submissions pause until UTC midnight — the UI shows a banner with a countdown rather than failing silently.
Failed task parts refund into the same daily bucket, and AI reports are never available on free credits alone — a subscription or pack is required for report generation.
Subscription tiers
Three paid plans, each granting a fixed credit allowance per billing cycle. Annual billing saves 20% off the monthly rate and grants twelve months of credits up front, valid until your anniversary date.
| Plan | Monthly price | Credits per month |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $19.99/mo | 2,000 |
| Pro | $49.99/mo | 6,000 |
| Business | $129.99/mo | 20,000 |
Monthly-plan credits are valid 90 days from grant and roll across billing cycles — with normal renewals you carry at most a few batches side by side, and the earliest-expiring batch is always consumed first. Full plan details and checkout live on the pricing page.
Credit packs (top-ups)
Packs are one-time purchases for when a heavy month outruns your plan. They require an active subscription, and their validity is decoupled from it — cancelling the subscription does not claw back pack credits.
| Pack | Price | Total credits | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 800 Credits | $9.99 | 800 | |
| 1900 Credits | $19.99 | 1,900 | |
| 5200 Credits | $49.99 | 5,200 | Most popular |
| 11000 Credits | $99.99 | 11,000 |
Pack credits are valid 90 days from purchase. Larger packs include bonus credits on top of the base amount, which is why total exceeds base.
Refunds and expiry rules
The billing direction of travel is refund-first: credits you did not genuinely consume come back.
- Failed scraping rows refund in full; partially collected tasks settle to actual pages collected.
- A star bucket that probes empty (the product has no reviews in that band) refunds that bucket's page fees entirely — the small probe base fee stays.
- Over-reserved task credits are released automatically when the task settles.
Expiry is per-batch, not per-account: each grant (free gift, monthly allowance, yearly allowance, pack) carries its own expiry date and is consumed earliest-first. The dashboard shows a warning window for credits about to expire, so nothing vanishes unannounced.
Credits and billing FAQ
How many credits does one Amazon review analysis cost?
Two parts: scraping plus the report. Scraping is 5 credits per page collected plus 1 base credit per ASIN — a 5-page single-ASIN overview is 26 credits. The AI report is a flat 150 credits per report, independent of review count. So a typical first deep-dive (10-page scrape + report) totals 201 credits.
Do unused credits carry over to the next month?
Yes, within each batch's validity. Monthly-plan credits are valid 90 days from grant and roll across billing cycles, consumed earliest-expiring-first. Pack credits are valid 90 days from purchase and are not tied to your subscription. The free signup gift is valid 30 days.
What happens to my credits if a scrape fails or comes back empty?
Failed rows refund in full, and tasks settle to the pages actually collected — over-reserved credits are released automatically. The one deliberate exception: a star bucket that probes empty refunds that bucket's page fees, but the small probe base fee per ASIN stays, because the probe itself did real work.
Can I buy credits without a subscription?
Credit packs require an active subscription plan — they top up a plan, not replace it. Without a plan, the paths are the free signup grant and, for AI reports, upgrading to any subscription tier. Plan prices and pack sizes are listed on the pricing page.
